FIRST® LEGO® League Limburg and Dutchbricks today laid the first brick for a long-term, sustainable partnership. Together, we share a passion for innovation, technology, and education, inspiring children and young people to devise creative solutions for tomorrow's challenges.

What is the FIRST® LEGO® League?
The FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) is an international competition and educational programme that engages children and young people aged 4 to 15 in science and technology. Teams build and program LEGO robots to complete specific missions on a competition field. In addition, the teams work on an innovation project in which they devise a solution to a current societal problem. The programme was founded in 1998 by Dean Kamen, an American inventor and entrepreneur, in collaboration with FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and the LEGO® Group.

Not only are technical skills promoted in the FIRST® LEGO® League, but it also emphasises core values such as sportsmanship, cooperation and respect. Teams are encouraged to work in an inclusive environment where everyone can contribute.

This year's theme: ‘Submerged’
This year's theme is ‘Submerged’. Participants will dive into the fascinating underwater world and discover the mysteries of the oceans. They will get to work building and programming LEGO robots to complete challenging missions and devise creative solutions for problems encountered beneath the sea surface.

A strongly growing event
The FIRST® LEGO® League is a rapidly growing event that is gaining more and more popularity, both in Limburg and worldwide. The enthusiasm and commitment of the teams continue to increase every year, which highlights the strength and impact of this programme!

Regional final Limburg
The FIRST® LEGO® League regional final Limburg will be held on Saturday 25 January 2025 at Wings Roermond, Oranjelaan 300, 6043 GL Roermond. Dutchbricks will be involved.
